The Internet Access And Training Program (IATP) is a program of the Bureau of Educational & Cultural Affairs (ECA), US Department of State, funded under the Freedom Support Act (FSA). IATP is administered by the International Research & Exchanges Board (IREX).

Specialized Training

We periodically conduct specialized training sessions to complement the training courses we offer. These specialized trainings are tailored to fit the Internet usage needs of a specific audience. For example, we have conducted sessions designed to show how the Internet is used as a source of reference in western libraries. Other trainings have been designed to show teachers of English how the Internet can be incorporated into classroom activities. The Internet needs of these two audiences are quite different which is why IATP organizes specialized training.

These training sessions are also organized to cover material which, due to time constraints, cannot be included within our weekly courses. For example, one of the most important parts of creating and then publishing a Web site to the Internet is knowing how to register that Web site with search engines so that Internet users worldwide will be able to find it. To fill this need, we periodically hold training sessions to demonstrate strategies for registering Web sites with commercial search engines.

All of the specialized training sessions IATP offers are free of charge. If you have an idea for a training that you think would be useful for you and your colleagues, please let us know about it. IATP may be able to work with you concerning its organization and presentation.
